Learn How to Train Dogs Without Shock, Choke, Prong or E Collars
December 26, 2016 @ 6:00 am - December 31, 2016 @ 7:00 pm
My Name is Dylan Blau and I am Proud to be the Alternative to the New Trend in Electronic Dog Training. I believe that by respecting the history that humans share with dogs I am able to communicate with dogs and understand their behaviors in a way no one else can.
Its not that what I do is not able to be duplicated, it simply was a different route that required more work, dedication and an open mind to learn and experiment.
After teaming up recently with an E collar Trainer and seeing that it all starts with Leash Training I see a Need for Everyone to understand the basic way to talk to dogs and express expectations without the need for any modern training tools.
Come by and See Where it all began. I challenge myself to get the results people say “you can only get will e collars” People say Prove it. So I did. I trained a dog to surf in a week, and i have fixed the worse behaviors in the industry.
The Biggest American Secret is that we are able to profit off our failures. Why are we ok with The Blind Insanity of making money but not making a difference? The Biggest American Secret is that we are able to profit off our failures. The more I talked with other trainers the more I noticed that they were all focused on one thing. The money. How could a 60 Billion Dollar Industry not be able to fix one problem. Then it hit me. The dog industry is a business. As a business if on Shark Tank the numbers are perfect. Everyone who is in the dog industry is making a lot of money or a shit ton of money! So how could this be? Is it possible that by controlling the supply and demand we have trained ourselves to be comfortable in this blind insanity of making money but not making a difference? The more dogs that get returned, the more money the industry makes, this is the scary truth of the dog industry. Let’s join together in a movement towards change!
The problem I am trying to solve is:
How do you train over half a million dogs at once?
Even Superman could not accomplish this.
When I first Started Arizona Dog Training to solve the problem I saw with the shelters in Arizona. I noticed that there was an abundance of dogs in the shelters; especially on the kill list. They had so many dogs coming in that they constantly have to kill dogs to make space. On top of that any dogs that got rescued would be returned in 6 months or less in most cases. This was a constant circle of blind insanity. It’s as if no one in the dog industry knows how to run a business, but it was much bigger than just that. We know how to put in work, and blood, sweat & tears. However, we struggle to solve the problem in order to make significant change.
After completing over 10,000 Free lessons in one year with over 600 dogs successfully being rehabilitated in our Bootcamp Programs I was ready to look at the results from the outside in. This was not just a problem in Arizona, this was a problem that the entire country was facing. I stopped looking at it from a local problem and saw this as a much bigger epidemic. Comparable to the amount of people incarcerated per capita is excessive not to mention the amount of people who return to the justice system after they are released. The biggest American secret is that we are able to profit off our failures!
It’s time for dog trainers to stop thinking about the small problem of the day to day dog that needs your help. As we have seen over and over again over the past 50 years that if we a dog trainers focus on training a few thousand dogs per year we only enable the problem to continue. It’s time to join together and make significant change. What happens when an unstoppable force hits an immovable object? It simply takes a push, one voice to stand up and light the fire to a movement of change. This movement will revolutionize the dog training industry bringing an end to dogs being returned to the shelter.
Arizona Dog Training was built around a simple concept. HELP EVERYONE! I saw that most dog trainers were focused on charging high rates to establish their ability & talent. They would train a very limited amount of dogs; typically turning down people who cannot afford the rate. The more I talked with other trainers the more I noticed that they were all focused on one thing. The money.
I stopped hearing things like…
“ I helped this one family” “I saved this one dog from being killed or going back to the shelter”
What I was actually hearing was…
“ I took this one lady for x amount of dollars” or
“ I don’t even mess with people who can’t afford my rate”
“it’s not my problem they cant afford me” “there is nothing we can do to change things”
“the dog would have ended up back at the shelter anyway”
“I’m not training that dog for that little amount of money”
The money is the result, it’s not the reason we wake up every day, at least that is the way for me.
In Order to Solve the problem, we offered:
A NO TURN DOWN POLICY
GOOD FAITH PROGRAM
NO PAIN TRAINING
NO SHOCK, CHOKE, PRONG OR E COLLARS
I was accidentally doing things that people were writing in books. By the time I started reading I was being reassured that all the experiments I was doing were in the right direction. However I was thinking to small, looking from the inside out. The only way to truly evaluate the situation I had to take a step back and look at things with a different perspective. Looking at the Dog Training Industry as a business trying to get an investment on the show Shark Tank I started breaking down the entire industry. What I found was that there was a 50% return rate for rescue dogs and a 25% success rate. The dog industry is the next bubble to pop. I got chills.
How could a 60 Billion Dollar Industry not be able to fix this problem. Then it hit me. The dog industry is a business. As a business if on Shark Tank the numbers are perfect. Everyone who is in the dog industry is making a lot of money or a shit ton of money! So how could this be?
How can such a successful industry be failing to improve upon things.
Not only is the dog industry making a lot of money, but every year it grows more and more.
So if we were to look at a graph, the more dogs that get returned, the more money the industry makes. Is it possible that by controlling the supply and demand we have trained ourselves to be comfortable in this blind insanity of making money but not making a difference?
In theory the more money one makes the more they feel successful or like they are in fact making a difference. However, that is not the truth.
I am not sure if no one has solved this problem because the business the dog industry is to keep dogs in the shelters. This is the only conclusion I can come up with. Either we are ok with the fact that we have a 50% return rate and a 25% chance of survival allows everyone to make lots of money. This is the dirty truth the dog industry doesn’t want you to know. The first step in solving a problem is acknowledging that there is one.
